When this guidance applies
This guidance concerns a national passport, a qualifying short visit and travel without Russian citizenship or a special status. Work, study, residence, unusual documents and a transit-only journey require a separate assessment.

Start with the route
For eligibility and the shared route conditions, read the unified e-visa overview.
What to prepare
Passport. It must be machine-readable, issued by your country of nationality and valid for at least 6 months from application submission. Your passport must show your full date of birth, and there must be space for border stamps.
Images. The portal asks for passport data and face images in JPEG format. The face photo must be no older than 6 months, on a plain light background, with your face looking forward. Follow the official 35:45 aspect ratio and framing rules; this ratio is not a claim about a minimum pixel size. See the face-photo checklist and illustrative example.
Children. Each child needs an individual e-visa application and visa; inclusion in a parent’s passport does not remove that requirement.
Accommodation. No booking confirmation is required for this application, but the FAQ asks for the name, address and telephone number of the intended accommodation.
Insurance. The portal’s full-stay insurance requirement has reciprocity exceptions. An optional or incomplete insurance field in the form must not be read as permission to travel without required cover.
Submit passport images only through the official application or another separately verified, consented destination. Russian Visa Guide does not collect them for initial route guidance.

Before you continue
Review your passport, dates and the insurance conditions. Work or study plans need a separate route; no application or insurance purchase is offered on this page.
