Check Russia e-visa application status

Use the official MFA account to check your Russia e-visa status and download the decision PDF. Understand completed status and the separate carrier check.

Check your application in your official MFA personal account or the MFA mobile app. Read the account's decision PDF when processing is finished: a finished process does not by itself mean the visa was granted. Russian Visa Guide cannot access your application.

Who this page is for

Use this guide when you already have a unified e-visa application and want to understand its account status. For the entry route and its conditions, start with the e-visa overview. This page does not determine whether you qualify or whether you may enter Russia.

Still preparing a first application? Read how to apply and the document checklist. The steps below concern checking an existing application.

What the account labels mean

Labels listed in the MFA instructions, with practical next steps. This is not a promised sequence or a complete list of every screen message.
Official labelMeaningNext step

Draft saved

The application is unfinished or has not been sent.

Complete and submit it through the official account if you intend to apply.

Payment required

The consular-fee payment is outstanding or has not gone through.

Review the payment section in the official account.

Application is being processed

The authority is processing the application.

Check the account for updates or requests to edit.

Correction required

Information needs correction before processing continues.

Read the field comments, edit and resubmit.

Processing completed

A decision has been made.

Download and read the result PDF; do not infer approval from the label.

If a status is unclear

Read the comments and decision in the official account rather than guessing from an email or elapsed time. For timing context, use the processing-time guide. This website has no access to your application and cannot change its status.

Where to check

  1. Open the official MFA instructions and use Sign in to enter the account you used for the application, or open the MFA mobile app.

  2. Find your application and read its current status and any field comments.

  3. Use the next step in the status table. When a decision is available, open the result PDF and read the decision itself.

Keep login details and application identifiers on the official service. There is no status form on this website.

Another label in the instructions

The MFA also uses Accepted for processing later in its instructions, after application validation. Treat the words displayed in your own account in context; the table above is a reading aid, not a timer or a guaranteed sequence.

If you are asked to correct information

Read the comments beside the flagged fields in your official account, correct the information and submit the amended application for reprocessing. Saving edits is not the same as resubmitting.

The MFA states that an application with incorrect information is returned for editing no later than two calendar days after submission. This is the authority's return-for-editing interval, not a two-day deadline given to you to make corrections. Processing resumes only after resubmission, whose date and time become the submission date and time.

Do not leave a correction request unanswered. The official portal acknowledgement says that when an application is returned for revision, you have 10 days to make the corrections and no additional payment is required. It says that expiration of this period leads to a refusal notification and the paid fee is non-refundable. Read the notice in your own account for the applicable deadline; this guide does not calculate it.

For the broader timing rules, read processing time and the application window. No decision date is guaranteed here.

How to download your Russia e-visa decision PDF

When the account shows Processing completed, open your application in the official MFA account and download the result PDF. Read the decision itself before treating the application as approved. If it is positive, print the e-visa notification or save it on your mobile device so you can show it to transport-company representatives and border officers.

Use the official account or MFA app to check progress and correction requests. Russian Visa Guide cannot retrieve a PDF, verify its authenticity or check a visa by passport number. The separate carrier validity check is explained below.

Checked 13 October 2026. MFA decision and notification instructions.

Applicant status and the carrier check are different

The separate MFA validity-check website describes its purpose as verification by transport-company representatives for boarding. It is not the applicant account described above. For progress, correction requests and the result of your application, use your official account or the MFA app.

Do not enter passport details, application numbers or verification codes on Russian Visa Guide.
