Russia e-visa processing time and application window

Understand the official e-visa processing interval, the earliest and latest application dates, and what corrections change.

The official instructions state a processing period of no more than 4 calendar days; the FAQ says the submission day is excluded. Correcting and resubmitting an application restarts that period. This is the authority’s stated process, not a guaranteed date of approval or permission to travel.

When this guidance applies

This guidance concerns a national passport, a qualifying short visit and travel without Russian citizenship or a special status. Work, study, residence, unusual documents and a transit-only journey require a separate assessment.

Keep three dates separate

Earliest submission. The portal accepts applications no earlier than 86 days before intended entry.

Latest submission. Its stated limit is 4 days before intended entry. The FAQ’s submission-day rule means that this short window must not be treated as an assurance that last-minute travel will work. Apply with time to correct errors.

Decision timing. Weekends and holidays are part of a calendar-day interval. Check the official personal account for correction requests and count again from resubmission when required.

Travel decision. A saved draft, a payment or an application status is not a visa grant. Read the resulting decision before treating the application as successful. If the stated processing period has passed, follow the official FAQ’s support instructions; do not post passport details in a public comment or send them to this website.

Before you continue

Review your passport, dates and the insurance conditions. Work or study plans need a separate route; no application or insurance purchase is offered on this page.
